Strandline  /  About

One person, two kinds of hard problems.

I build and look after websites for North County businesses, and I spend the deeper end of my time on the high-performance storage and infrastructure that large organizations run on.

The short version

How I ended up doing both.

For over two decades, my work has lived at the demanding end of technology: designing and troubleshooting the large-scale, high-performance storage systems behind enterprise data centers and media-and-entertainment production. The kind of infrastructure where milliseconds and availability genuinely matter.

Strandline grew out of something quieter. The same care those systems demand is exactly what most local businesses can't find when they need a website, so I started building them: fast, modern, and looked after long past launch, for the shops, offices, and organizations around North County San Diego, where I was raised, am raising a family, and live and work.

Two very different worlds. The same person, and the same standard, behind both.

What that looks like

Range, not scatter.

For local businesses

The web side

I design, build, host, and maintain websites: one person, start to finish, so nothing falls through the cracks and there's always someone who actually knows your site.

For organizations

The deeper end

I take on select consulting in high-performance storage and infrastructure: architecture, performance, and the hard problems that sit below the application layer, drawn from years of enterprise work.

No matter which side

What doesn't change.

You get a person, not a queue

When you reach out, you reach me. No call centers, no handoffs, no ticket numbers.

I don't disappear

I stay on after the work is "done" — keeping things running, secure, and adapting as you grow.

Plain answers

A five-page site or a petabyte filesystem, I'll tell you straight what it needs and what it'll take.

Let's talk

Wherever you're starting from.

Tell me what you're working on, a website or a harder problem underneath, and I'll tell you honestly how I can help.
